There is a reason they are called safety switches!

The legal responsibility in regards to the maintenance of safety switches requires landlords to ensure that compliant switches are installed on all required circuits and tested regularly in order to protect the safety of their tenants.

The law now requires the installation of safety switches within three months of the sale of a domestic residence constructed prior to 1992 and if your rental property does not have a safety switch installed you must arrange installation by a licensed electrician to prevent fines for the Queensland Government and Work Safe Queensland.
